friends getting married

Nicole and Ross // Married in Elk, CA

Flash back to January. I remember it was raining in San Francisco (did it even rain at all in January?), and Nicole and I were getting our nails done. We were happy to spend the afternoon being pampered, catching up, and talking wedding. Ross had proposed on Christmas, things were starting to come together, and it was all very exciting. When Nicole asked if I would shoot her "getting ready photos" I was blown away. I knew that by September I would have eight months more experience under my belt and so hopefully I wouldn't let her down.

Wedding Weekend // Congratulations Josh and Katie!

Thanks for the photo, Nick!

It was such a beautiful wedding. I'm going to let the photos speak for themselves. I just want to say that I love these people, and Josh and Katie, I am so happy for you two!

(P.S. Some photos I took of the happy couple when they were newly engaged.)

Jen & James Get Married!

I have known James as long as I have known Jeffery, over a decade. They've been best friends since middle school and James is like a brother to me. I only met Jen at Sam and Christian's wedding last June, but as soon as I did, I wanted more of her in my life. In fact, I'd like a whole lot more of their entire family in my life. They are an inspiration of what it means to keep family close.

What a beautiful evening. As soon as the sun went down behind the hill, the pond transformed into a liquid mirror. It was the perfect backdrop for a perfect day. This couple is blessed with an incredible family. So much love. And what a wealth of beautiful little nieces (and one nephew!). Congratulations, Jen and James! Wishing you a lifetime of happiness.

A Best Friend's Wedding

Aimee and I have been friends since before kindergarden. I have photos of us at age 5 dressed up as pirates, wearing eyeliner mustaches, my mother's scarves tied around our heads and waists, bangles on our arms, the dough hook from the kitchenaid as a...hook. I have photos of us from our 8th grade graduation and our high school graduation and from my wedding and the insignificant moments in between. I feel so lucky to have her in my life and to have been a part of her wedding celebration. She married her high school sweetheart of seven years on her parent's beautiful property in our hometown. I cried and laughed during the ceremony, and again throughout the toasts. The tiny flower girls danced until the end. Aimee, I love you. Thank you for teaching me about friendship and grace and humor and for being there, always. I wish you and Brady a lifetime of happiness.

A Willits Wedding

Last weekend Jeffery and I headed up to our hometown for a wedding. Our good friends' little sister got married on their parent's property up in the mountains in Mendocino County. It was a country wedding on a perfect day.

Heading into Willits

It's a one horse town.

The city of Willits sits in a valley between two small mountain ranges.

Holli and Jimmy are both from Willits, but they met in Southern California.

Holli's parents built a massive barn to house Brad's antique car collection.

I snuck inside to take some photos.

Jill's garden and the view from their home.

Brad drove Holli up in his beautiful antique Mercury.

Aimee and Jeremy, sister and brother of the bride. Aimee and I have been best friends since kindergarten. Isn't she beautiful?

Tim (brother of the bride and one of Jeff's best friends) needed me to fix his corsage.

Jeffery cleans up nice, but he still won't sit still for a photo.

Sister and maid of honor.

First dance as husband and wife.

Father/Daughter dance. Everyone was in tears.

It was a beautiful wedding. Congratulations Holli and Jimmy, and thank you for sharing your day with me! I'm sure you two will be very happy together.
