Words have felt hollow for months now, but my hope is that these photographs speak more than I can. I love this work, photographing love and connection. Motherhood, marriage, family. I am truly a portrait photographer—people are my favorite subject. And I am so grateful for the people who keep asking me to document their love.
Between March and June I photographed over 40 local mamas through the windows of their homes. It was a crash course on reflection. This creative outlet gave me purpose and saved my sanity. Ella tagged along—sometimes reading books and eating snacks in the car, and sometimes acting as my little shadow.
This year I donated $800 towards causes that support BIPOC communities. I'm proud of that, but also I want to do more, give more.
Out of fear of the unknown, I said yes to every opportunity that presented itself, and ended up being pretty busy. Turns out "busy" is my M.O. Even with seven weddings postponed till 2021, this was one of my best years. It was also the year my daughter turned three, which is a magical MAGICAL age. Feeling really lucky to be stuck at home with such an incredible kid.
Cheers, friends.
