Quick day trip to the Sierra Buttes with my folks last week, where we explored Salmon Lake, picnicked at Lower Sardine and hiked to Upper Sardine. We packed a lunch of homemade sourdough, cheese, avocado, veggies, hummus, apricots, and potato chips. The girl had a blast, and it was fun showing my mom and dad a part of California they had never seen. Jeffery and I had only seen the lakes from up above, when we hiked to the lookout tower with our friends three years ago. (And when we were on the mountain I somehow got a text from our realtor saying our offer on this house had been accepted!) I predict this craggy landscape is going to be the backdrop of many family photos over the years, and it will be fun to look back and reminisce.
