Eight months old!
Baby girl, you are a delight. You have two teeth with more on their way. You have mastered crawling and are becoming more steady on your feet each day. All things go directly in your mouth for inspection. We went camping for the first time at Shasta Lake (photos coming soon!) and you loved it all. Your dad and I are constantly amazed at what a great kid you are. You are curious and capable and smart. You love people and light up around other kids and babies. You are a water baby, are happiest outside, and you devour everything we offer you. You are sleeping much better since we decided to night wean—thank you, daddy!—most nights you go down easy at 7:30 and don't wake up until 4:30. I nurse you, you go back down, and you wake again between 6 and 6:30. Sleep training was one of the most challenging things I have ever done—questioning myself constantly, plus everything is harder when you're desperate for sleep—but I feel like we turned a corner. I am so proud of you, I just wish I felt more rested!
Words don't do you justice. I feel lucky to spend my days with you. Nourishing you and providing you with gentle care and guidance is the most important work I've ever done.
